Blueberry fluorite from Inner Mongolia—most famously from the Huanggang mines in Hexigten Banner—is a distinctive form of fluorite known for its deep navy-to-indigo color and its unusual botryoidal (“blueberry-like”) habit. These rounded fluorite spheres often sit on contrasting white or clear quartz, sometimes with multiple generations of quartz growth that highlight the vivid blue tones. The specimens formed in low-temperature hydrothermal environments where fluorite precipitated in smooth, globular layers rather than the more common cubic crystals.
